Photography Workshop
April 16, 2011 - Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuge Complex
Tom Carlisle, Photographer
Horizons, foregrounds, sky, clouds, wildlife. What’s the subject? Where do I put it?
-
In praise of the horizon-less landscape
-
Is the horizon well placed? does it bisect the photo? Hope not.
-
How does your eye flow into and through the photo?
-
What's the subject of the photo?
-
Foreground, middle ground, background
-
Is this a vertical or horizontal composition? ...or both?
-
-
Is the subject at a "power point"?
-
Are animate subjects looking into or out of the photo? Why?
-
Avoid “intruders” and random "escapees" that disrupt the movement of your eye through the photo.
-
Avoid hot spots that draw the eye away from the subject
