Now that I've Taken the Photo, What Do I do!
-
A simple workflow...
-
What is workflow…the process of acquiring, transferring, preparing, cataloging, storing and outputting photos.
-
Your workflow and my workflow may be very different since we use different equipment and have different photographic goals and objectives. There are some common factors.
-
You may go from point and shoot camera to Facebook and Flickr and maybe print a photo now and then…others may go from a pro DSLR to web site usage, sale to magazines and the printing of fine art prints.
-
Start by creating a good photo in an acceptable file format
-
Get the photo out of your camera and into the computer
-
Tune up the photo in a photo program
-
Exposure (watching the histogram as you go along...)
-
Levels* (if possible)
-
Curves* (if possible)
-
Brightness and Contrast (not so much if you adjust levels and curves)
-
Hue and Saturation (sparingly)
-
Store the photo on a disk drive as a master file
-
"Repurpose" the photo to view, print, share, sell the photo
