The "edges" of the longleaf forest that transition to other habitat zones and the "micro"  habitats within the forest make longleaf pine habitat all that more interesting. In BRSF there are bogs, ponds and riparian zones that add that interest. In this case, a natural drainage has been blocked by a road and beavers have moved in to further modify the flow of water.
