I passed by Tate's Hell State Forest on my way south to the coastal highway (Route 98.) The state foresters and fire management crews had blocked off many of the forest roads and were conducting a prescribed burn. As I crossed Apalachicola Bay on the causeway, I could see the smoke from the fire. As is often the case, this fire created a bit of it's own weather by creating updrafts of moist air and seeding the formation of a cloud. |
For those of you who have the Google Earth software.... This will open as a "Temporary Place" in Google Earth. This is the general location of the fire.
