The Pearl River runs through Mississippi and along the border with Louisiana. The Pearl River Basin contains diverse habitat from pine flatwoods and hardwood bottoms to cypress-tupelo swamps. Some of the richest areas in the basin are contained within state wildlife management areas and the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge. This cypress swamp in Bogue Chitto NWR is an example of that diverse habitat |
